True Love: The feeling when you first look in your child's eyes, the tiny little hand gripping your finger, and you can't imagine your life without him or her.

Bubble Bath

After last week's donuts, the kids were a disaster of chocolate & glaze & crumbs & yumminess...
So, it was time for a bubble bath in mom's big tub!!

They *love* my big tub.
But they get scared of the jets, so we left them off.

The love these 2 have for each other is so obvious.
Watching them (especially when they think someone has "wronged" the other
& they become uber-protective) warms my heart.

Matt is doing much better.
Still not 100%. But better.
Of course, when it rains it pours...
So he's now dealing with a gout flare-up.
Ugh.
But he's getting back to normal, slowly.
Thankfully (for Matt) the rest of us go back to school tomorrow, so he'll be able to work from home, alone.
And maybe get some more much needed rest, without his kids & wife hounding him to do stuff.

(We're working on getting Milo's big-boy bed painted & set up. I hope to have pictures of it by next week! Of course, my classes starting back up will put a dent in my picture time again.)

July 4th

ISO 100,  f2.8,  SS 1/200
Edited with Florabella "Clean Color" (55%) & "Smitten" (63%)
This is the above picture before I did any editing -
straight out of the camera (SOOC)
I had to include it because Xandra's eyes just blew me away.
We went to our town's 4th of July parade.
Yep, we braved the insane heat to sit on a curb & watch a parade.
Daddy walked in it, since he's a council member.
But mostly, the kids were just thrilled to grab all the candy that was thrown out!

Can't you see the enthusiasm on their faces?!!
They were thrilled, I tell ya!!

Ok. Maybe "thrilled" is too strong a word.
We were so HOT!!
And to top it off, we totally missed seeing Matt!
Boo!

In the evening we went to Papa's house for a cookout.
We celebrated with bubbles this year.
Though it didn't last too long.
It was just too hot!

All told, it was a good holiday, even without the fireworks.
I hope we get to see them next year.

We haven't been up to much around here lately.
Again - the weather.
It's really hindered our activities.

The kiddos officially started swim lessons yesterday.
They did better than I thought they would, but they each need to learn to trust their instructor a bit more.
Hopefully, it will be even better next week.
I'm going to try to get some pictures of them in the next couple weeks.

I had to include this last picture, even though it has nothing to do with the 4th.
I took it this morning while the kids were wrestling with daddy, after church.
I love the joy!

Hope everyone has a great week!!
