Peeling the Orange

So Milo asked Daddy for an orange yesterday. Daddy gave him one, but had to grab something else before he could help peel it. Milo apparently got tired of waiting for Daddy, and began peeling the orange by himself!! Who knew he had that skill??

I know Milo doesn't appear to be happy being man-handled by Xandra. 

But I swear he was giggling nano-seconds before these were taken & again after I put the camera down. 

I think we've hit a "no pictures please" phase.

Not that I'll let that dissuade me!

I'm not a quitter!

Whether he looks happy or not, these pictures touch my soul.

These 2 love each other more than I ever could have dreamed of.

Xandra is very protective of her brother, and the feeling is mutual.

She includes him in everything she does.

It brings tears to my eyes. 

I know (from experience) this kind of sibling relationship is not always the norm.

Adopted or biological...

They are siblings & friends in every sense & meaning of the words.

Bath Party

What to do when it's too chilly to play outside, Daddy's gone for the day, & Mama is sick of the bickering?

Milo's first time in the big tub.

I can't decide if he liked it...

Xandra has always been a little wary of the big tub.

I think I totally freaked her out the first time she was in it (a few years ago), when I turned the jets on.

But I think she's finally forgiven me.

I warned them about splashing (Xandra still hates to get water in her eyes), but it's a little brother's job...

Who can resist a cute little Chinese tushie?
Not me!

They stayed in the tub so long I ended up adding more warm water!

I'll be keeping this little trick up my sleeve for future use!

The best part- 2 clean little bodies & 1 worn out little boy (+ a great photo op!)!!

Outside Play {Sunday Snapshot}

A mishmash of the past few days' activities.

The weather has been all over the place (anywhere from 80-30's within 4 days time)- no wonder we're all staying sick.

But we've been out trying to enjoy what we can.

Xandra stole my jacket when it got a little too chilly for her.

I really have no idea why they're lying down on the sidewalk.
Too tuckered out to play any more?
I wish.

The majority of my pictures have been of Milo lately.
I'm trying to get ready for Milo's final post-placement visit. (Yea!!)
It's coming up shortly.

We might need a machete to get through this jungle!
Or just turn around & walk out of the garden...

Milo has an aversion to socks.
He'll wear them, if he's forced.
But as soon as he comes home,
they're the first things he peels off!
Just like Daddy.

You know, an open fly is just easy access.
(I totally didn't notice that until I uploaded the pics. Oops!)

Bubbles {Sunday Snapshot}

It was a real toss-up this week, on which was my fav shot. 

I actually had 3 contenders (the one above, the one below, & the one of Milo below this).

I love them all.

We went out to blow bubbles the other day.

It was one of the first days we could do it because the wind has been horrendous around here.

We live on a hill, so we always have wind, but it's been even more outrageous than normal.

But I digress...

Milo tried to eat a bubble.
See the remnants by his cheek? 

So we pulled out the bubble guns & headed outside.
The kids had a great time!

Just had to include this last one, too.

Playing at Papa's {Fav Foto Friday}

So, these are from Easter. 

Yeah.

I'm kind of behind in posting.

I blame finals at school.

The kids had a blast playing in Papa's backyard.

Bocce Ball

Easter Sunday we spent with my family - my dad & brothers. The weather wasn't ideal (a little too chilly for my tastes), but it was nice enough that after dinner the boys decided to play a little bocce ball. The problem was, the big boys didn't really plan to allow the little boy to play along. 

Milo had other plans

The big boys: Nick (middle younger brother), Tommy (oldest younger brother), Dad, Mike (youngest brother), & Matt

The big boys kicked Milo out. 

He was not amused.

Then he pouted. 

And shot the evil eye at the big boys.

So he stole a ball. 

Finally, the big boys relented & let Milo play for a little bit.

We had a really nice Easter! 

Time with family.

And good food.

Always a good time!
